Sadly I only knew Adam for a short time, but it was more than long enough to know what a legend he was. It was a privilege to play for the club, although my knees are still complaining and I get a hangover just thinking about Haverhill!

You could be out with Adam on a Saturday night till the early hours and he would still be the best player on the park any given Sunday. Plus he had a panache for wearing a scarf while playing even into summer. Great times whilst playing for Wellingore great set of lads and managers.

Remember those games, when we were up against it and struggling to find that extra gear. You would look around at the lads and it was Adam who would be rolling up his sleeves, getting vocal and encouraging us all to dig deep. More often than not, we gave a better account of ourselves and we could walk off the pitch with heads up. Without doubt, one of the best lads and captain I’ve played with
